Just Started Fishing

Hi! Just started properly fishing, at a grand old age of 13.

Any top tips, bait etc GREATLY APPRECIATED!

i know some1 called matt who is 13, but what fishing do you do? Sea, fly, course, or ice?

well sure i do course fishing my self, first thing is what are you about? what rod do you have if any and what advise are you looking for?

Got a couple rods, shimano which i float on, another 'set' which i turned into leger so put that out halfway in the lake, went last weekend, had two rods in, leger and float.

Advice was really bait. Thanks

What's in the lake? And what is the stocking level like?

If it's usual, carp, roach, bream, tench, rudd etc..

A good bait to use on the float will be maggots, worm, caster, sweetcorn etc..

On the leger, use boilies, cubes of luncheon meat, sweetcorn etc..

Thanks Norfolkboy, I have mates who fish alot so i go with them, got the real bug now! Just wondering about bait really, what do you suggest?

some good fish there, good stocking level i think. Carp roach bream tench yep all of them. Last week all i caught was about 1/2 Pound rudd, on Maggots.
I don't think i was fishing deep enough on the leger. Getting some hair rigs tomorrow so i can put on some boillies etc. Cheers for advice!

like he said maggots - hook em through the eyes bit, worms - cut em in half and do the same, pellets - i dont know, hope that helps!
