Hi all

Been a river and lake basher most of the time but have decided to give the beach a bash, am totaly clueless on tackle rods & tactics, I was thinking on the lines of a massive rod & huge multiplyer any advice really appreciated

Lots of nice places to fish down your way, i'd go for a decent make of rod 13 feet with a multiplier reel. But it very much depends on you budget.

I can reccommend Daiwa Sandstorm Rod amd either a Penn or Abu multiplier reel.

Look through a couple of mags and on the internet to get and idea on prices and then make you choice.
