New on the forum Hi everyone, I've joined this forum because of my love for fishing and nature in general. Since I've never fished outside of Portugal this is a good way of learning more about fishing worldwide and trading fishing experiences. I'm sure that I will learn a lot with all of you. Best regards, Hugo João.

Thanks for the hospitality. Latelly I'm doing most float fishing, either from piers or cliffs. I also like surfcasting and spinning. The last one without much success in capturing sea basses. I also used to fish in fresh water, for mostly black bass, in dams. Ocasionally I go on full day boat fishing trips.

Re: New on the forum I love black bass. We have four different species where I live, so that keeps me busy. I'm hoping to go to Brasil (my wife is from São Paulo) this year or next, so maybe I can get some tucunaré. How is the black bass fishing in Portugal? I know it's pretty good in France, Spain, and Italy. Are there any lures that aren't commonly found over here that are working well for you? __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner

Re: New on the forum I havent fished for black bass in a while, but from what I still have in my "tool box" lures that mimic crayfish (which is one of their main food source), spinerbaits, soft and cheap lures like "yum woolys" specially in dark and redish colours and some bulky lures that mimic fish used to catch a few. Black bass is big in Portugal, in the south it's the most popular fresh water fishing. Good in the summer, after the spawning. But I believe that in the United States it´s a lot more popular. Going to Brazil? I think they have some of the biggest fresh water fish. It should have a good time

Re: New on the forum Yeah, black bass are a really big deal over here... They're almost everywhere! I love fishing for them with crayfish imitators and topwater lures. As for Brasil, my goal there is tucunaré (peacock bass), pacú, and traíra. __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner
