| Re: lack of experience Worth taking a small net, even one of those kids rockpool nets and scoop it through the weed at the edge of the pool for the small shrimp. Fish them a couple of feet under a bubble float for bass in the pool near the intlet or on the other side around the store pots. Watch out for the overhead cables at the inlet/outlet sure you,l see the tackle wrapped around them already. Not sure what,s on the you tube vid Mike posted as my internet is seriously lagging and wont play it tonight but most of the guys i know reckon lugworm and crab are good for Giltheads. Blustery NW winds tomorrow and HT around 2.30pm so if it,s to bad there might be worth heading over to Penzance/Newlyn piers for a bit of float fishing over the harbour walls, rag/sandeel mackie strip. Hope this helps before you set off tomorrow. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger |

| Re: lack of experience i`ve spoken to the guys who made the video ,as i was looking to go and have a crack at the Giltheads .... Heres what he said ..... """" Think you will be able to fish for them till november . u got a good chance of a bigun down there this time of year, so i am told ,park next to jewsons there is a layby with enough room for 3 or 4 cars walk down footpath and take first left and follow it on past the houses intill you come to a bench there should be a buoy out in front cast about 50 yards left of the buoy this should put u just off the lug beds """" __________________ Mike.. | Re: lack of experience There's an old run down shop at the side of Jewson's with a bit of parking in front of it and the footpath going down the side that must be what your mate is talking about Mike. There's a pay and display carpark about 50yds along the road at the viaduct if there's no space. Biggest i heard of coming from the pool is over 8lbs, one of our club members had one over 6lb last year. Must have a look at the vid when the internet is a wee bit better. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger |
