| Hello Hello all.... My name is Steve and I live in Torquay. I am originally from Weymouth (born and bred) and I'm just getting back into sea fishing after an extended break of around 38 years. My favourite fishing haunts during my youth were off the rocks at Bincleaves, at the very end of a rather flimsy pier on Sandsfoot beach, Ferry bridge on the road to Portland, the Fleet and especially Chesil whilst a good wind was blowing! I'd had a few successes, mainly Wrasse, lots of Pouting, a few small Plaice, Flounders, Garfish and Bream, some small Dogfish and one conger which was bigger than I was.... nothing too impressive, but exciting and unforgettable enough to entice me back after all these years. I'm just about to join the Torquay and Babbacombe Angling Society and, after a long visit to Tidal Tackle here in Torquay this morning, leaving with my wallet considerably lighter than it was when I went in, I am embarking on my first sojourn tomorrow afternoon to a pier in Torquay (not Princess Pier) with all my brand new equipment to get some practice and to try my luck! I hope to bump into some of you (locals) at some time in the future.     |
