Hello all Decided to get myself a rod after finding out that our holiday cottage (next to a lake in Sweden) came with a rowing boat & fishing licence. Also, decided it would be a great hobby to take up and share with my 7 year-old son. Used to fly fish on the River Dee when I was teenager growing up in Wales (without much success) until I got distracted by footie & girls!!! At the moment, I have got the following kit: - 7ft telescopic rod - fixed spool reel - crystal waggler float - size 10 & size 14 hooks Baits used - sweetcorn, maggots, worms, bread, spam, halibut pellets (as feed). Fish in still water lakes nearby, stocked with carp, perch, pike, roach & rudd. So far I have had 1 sucessfull day (1 perch & 8 roach) and others where I have caught absolutely nothing. Enjoying it lots, however in need of some hints, tips & luck please !!!! Thanks Sion __________________ Sion&Robyn Float & feeder - Lakes nr. East Grinstead, Sussex Species caught -Perch, Roach, Dace, Bream, Common Carp, Mirror, Crucian, Gudgeon, Rudd, Tench, Goldfish Would like to catch next - Chub

Re: Hello all welcome sion, my first bit of advice would be getting some smaller hooks, 16s/18s, this should help with bait presentation __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: Hello all Welcome to the forum Sion ![]() My advice would be to stop fishing now, before you get addicted and start spending every penny you have on tackle ![]() ![]() Although having said that,it is probably too late to stop as you have already caugh your first fish ![]() ![]() Seems to me like you're doomed ![]()
