Hooked again 20 years on.

Hi,

I'm getting back into fishing after 20+ years away from it when used to fish the Eden up in Fife for flatties & trout, my best day being 13 trout in the bag and my worst, of which there were so, so many, being none.

This weekend I took my boys fishing for their first time to Mill Farm fishery near Pulborough as it's close to where my brother stays and we had a brilliant day on the carp.

All four of us caught and they were our biggest fish ever, blowing my PB out the way. Kinda annoying that my two kids didn't have to go through 10-15 years of small catches/blanks/dealing with eels/6 hours of lashing rain and landed what were mahoosive carp (for us) but what better way to get someone hooked on fishing!

We fished hair rigs and 16mm pellets and nothing else (boilies and groundbait are banned). Still trying to get my head round all the new equipment and terminology as when I last fished you put_the_bait_on_the_hook.

After a bit of reading on forums and a couple of magazines, we are hoping to return this Sunday with pva bags and some particles to try and improve our catch. Will also have a chat to some of the other anglers this time now I don't feel such a noob. The only thing I said to anyone last week was "sorry" after I had a spas cast across the next door swim so I thought I had best go and apologise. Thankfully they hadn't got their lines out yet and found it quite funny <blush>

Anyway, that's a little bit about me. Back into it in a big way and looking forward to meeting some of you guys and catching some more.
