| Re: Hello from Chester ok well iv been fishing with a friend for the last few months and i dont seem to be catching half as much as what he does or half as big yet we are both on the same set up (float, size 16 hook) what could i be doing wrong? lol i know that could be a silly question as it could be a million things, but anyway iv just bought my own rod and reel but whats best to fish? float or feeder on still water 7 ft max fisheries? of course i want biggish fish like carp any suggestions? |

| Re: Hello from Chester Welcome to the forum, Mark. Thirty years ago, when I was into coarse fishing, I fished regularly with my neighbour. He ALWAYS seemed to catch loads more than me, despite us using similar baits and tackle. Then one day as I lit up a fag, I wondered whether I might be transferring the tobacco taste from my hands onto the bait. From then on I never smoked while fishing and the very next outing I caught just as many fish as my mate. Coincidence or what? If you smoke, you might give it a try. If it don't work, well at least you've tried. Anyway, what do I know? Kind regards. |
