Hi all. I'm new to fishing, well I used to fish long time ago but I want to come back in the game so to speak :) Basically there are soo many fishing rods and other staff that I'm confused. I like to fish for carps and I have around £200 to spare. Can anyone please help me find good set or 2 rods, lines basically everything I need for carp fishing. Thanks guys in advance. Really appreciate it.

Re: Need help with my first set Welcome to the forum. You can't go far wrong with chubb rods. The outcast is £50 reels okhuna interceptor pros £34 each. For your line if it's bottom fishing I would recommend a fluorocarbon line. I switched to it this year. Doesn't cast to well but great sinking potential and almost invisible under the water. For q landing net if you need one a company called dragon carp do a 36" net and handle for £10. I use it and would recommend it. tj

Re: Need help with my first set http://www.fostersofbirmingham.co.uk...UNNERCARPCOMBO I would look no further than those, add a couple of cheap alarms and swingers and your not too far north of 200.

Re: Need help with my first set Welcome Nikolay. I like you have only recently started fishing again so i have some advice about buying new tackle. If your fishing for carp, get a rod with a test curve of anything over 1.75 l/b`s, a cheapish reel, dont go too mad, and some leadgers, open end feeders, strong line (10lb +), size 12 to 6 hooks, shot for your line etc. Technique of fishing is up to you and what you know. Modern carp fishing is all about boilies, pellets etc, and `hair rigs`, knotless knots, alarms, and bait runner reels, which is effective and gets results, but can be pricey. Alternatively you can catch carp with a controller float and a piece of bread crust. Unless you plan to fish with somebody else, id advise one good rod and reel, chair you can carry in a bag on your shoulder, good landing net with good telescopic handle, chair/bag combi for your bits and pieces. Good flask and your set. All the best steve
