New here - Venues near midlands?

Hi guys - starting out fishing, just brought everything i need including the license.

Im from the west midlands area and I was wondering if anybody knew of any decent places around here? A bit of travel is fine and mainly would like too catch carp but obvs im new so anyhting would be good. Id prefer a nice secluded Lake and preferbaly not a fishery just while im starting out. Thanks :)

cheers

I was looking at going to babbs mill in Kingshurst, Solihull but have read a few reviews saying carp have been stolen and released into Shard End Lake. Can anybody comment on this who has fished it recently? Thanks

Re: New here - Venues near midlands?

Hi Tommo,

i'm from bham and have just got into fishing, been trrying a few places out. My favourite ive found so far is a place called lower park fishery in redditch,

It's quite a new venue and ive yet to see any more then 4 ppl fishing any of the 4 lakes at any one time. i've always had great days fishing there, biggest being a 5 lb carp... but theres plenty of nice tench, bream and roach in there aswell.

other places around i've fished are woods farm in shirley, the reservoir in earlswood and a few of the local canals... not had the best of luck at any of them places though.

if you want a few bend in your gear head to a little place called grounds farm in wishaw sutton coldfield its only small but a pellet wagler set a 12" under with a 8miller on a banded hook will see you right oh and welcome along
just another note dont forget the littler fish they teach you alot,
but there are loads of other places
dingle fisheries
kingsbury water park
sutton park
blackgreaves fisheries
i could be here all day lol

BAA seem about to announce a deal with the council. Might be worth a ticket . As it is , they have loads of water . The lakes are a bit of a trip from Brum . The river Severn, they have loads of and you've got water near you too. Check out there website.
