Visitor to Tewkesbury area Hi there, I've just joined this site and will be visiting the Tewkesbury area in a couple of weeks. My wife and I will be at The Three Counties show for 3 days, she will be exhibiting and I want to go fishing. I think I have that one sussed!! It has been about 30 years since I last caught a barbel, and even then it was only about 1lb. Even though I am an experienced angler I simply have not had any barbel waters local to me. So, I'd love to have a session or two for barbel. Can anybody help with a suitable day ticket water close to the show or in the area (I have never been this way before so consider me lost). I don't neccessarlily need a specimen water, but a nice place for a days fishing and (please!) a good chance of catching a few moderate sized barbel and possibly chub. Any info such as whether tickets are available on the bank and directions would be great (I have a satnav), plus a few tips for the water. Many thanks Reg

Re: Visitor to Tewkesbury area Hi welcome to forum Sorry not my kind of fishing (yet) but from what ive heard over the years is that Upton on Severn is good for the barbel not far from where your staying (and if your staying in Tewkesbury you actualy drive through it to get to show ground) Sorry can't help more. Good Luck ![]() __________________ Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit on a bank and drink beer all day

Re: Visitor to Tewkesbury area Might need to go a little bit upstream or across to the Warwickshire Avon. Check Birmingham Anglers website , they have loads of water on the Severn and have some at Upton too. If you are willing to travel further upstream past Bewdley then your chances increase . Hamton Loade (in barbel alley) is a good spot. With BAA and Kinver Freeliners having water on both sides of the river. Also check out the Teme , again you'll need to travel past Worcester though. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk
