| Hi to everyone Hello guys, i am new to fishing, an never been, i have always wanted to go, an am finally going to put an end to my long wait an go :) I purchased a professional rod (least what the guy said) which is suitable for both salt an fresh water. I live in london, an would like to know good places were i could go, catch as much as i like, pay only a one off fee, rather then the amount i catch, or better yet, free. So far from this helpfull site, i have found a place called Dover port and dover pier, please could someone tell me a little about both? what type of fish is their to catch their? is it any good? |

| Re: Hi to everyone Welcome to the forum. Dover has two piers and a breakwater to fish from. The Prince of wales pier is within the harbour and is a bit slow as far a the fishing goes but it easy to access and is clean and tidy with good facilities. £3 per rod per day. The Admiralty pier is the outer western arm of the port. It fishes much better than the Prince of wales but is £6 per rod per day and is shoulder to shoulder with people mackeraling this time of year. I would avoid it until the maceral have gone. The Breakwater is the southern most pier, it is only accessed by boat and is run by the Dover sea angling association. I think the boat costs about £6 and its £6 to fish. I have never fished the Breakwater but it has a very good reputaion and is said to be worth the cost. Its plauged by strong tides though, fixed wire leads are advised. There is also Samphire Hoe at the bottom of the cliffs to the west of Dover. £4 for the day to fish. It is very rocky and expect tackle loses if fishing the bottom. Hope that is of some help. All the best. Jason __________________ ><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·...¸><((((º>¸. ·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·.. ><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·...¸><((((º> |
