| Hi! My name's Bre... I live in southeast Iowa on the Mississippi River. I was actually raised on the river- lived year-round in a cabin, and have been fishing since I was old enough to hold a pole... I have only been freshwater fishing, although I would love to someday go deep-sea fishing. We go to Florida every summer- I just haven't gotten lucky enough to go out in a boat yet. My fishing season usually starts as soon as it gets nice enough to be outside for more than 10 minutes without freezing to death. April is about average. I fish until the water freezes up. Amazingly I've never been ice fishing. Around here we do a lot of river fishing, and that usually produces channel cat, blue cat, carp, perch and a few different types of bass. (It also produces a boat full of drunks- We always have the time of our lives!) I do a lot of farm pond fishing too. The blue gill and crappie are all over the place around here. Anyways, that's about it... Looking forward to learning a few tips and hearing some stories! Cheers! __________________ Fishing is an excuse to drink in the daytime... |

| Re: New from Iowa Welcome aboard! I must say it's very nice to see so many Americans joining the forum. Up until a few months ago it was totally one sided __________________ Simon "4 Rods" TorbayFishing.Com - Beginners guide to sea fishing, news, reviews & more! |

| Re: New from Iowa I was noticing last night there aren't a lot of Americans on here either. It's basically ALL Americans and Canadians on my hunting forum, and NO Americans on the fishing forum!! Thanks for all the "welcomes"... A few of you mentioned being interested in the bass fishing here... My uncle lives in Arkansas, and he is a HUGE bass fisher. My little cousin is getting married in July, so we're heading down there for those festivities... You can be sure I will be hittin up the fishin holes with my uncle while I'm down there! I'll give ya a full report and pics when the time comes... In the mean time.... The bluegill should be spawning here reletively soon. Lookin forward to that... The temp is sitting at 52 degrees right now!!! It's supposed to snow tonight/tomorrow though- big bummer.... Soon enough MY fishin season will be in full swing though, so I'm sure I'll have plenty of stories.... I look forward to chatting with all of you!!!
