Hi
Just a post to say hello as a newbie to the forum.

About me: Im one of those people who have a million and one hobbies, and so rarely find the time to devote to them all properly, however I do love flitting between them and I have not yet actually gone off any of my many hobbies, even though some havent seen attention in quite some time.

Fishing (the hobby in question):
Started fishing at a very young age with my Grandad and it carried on for many many years, all mainly float and swimfeeder in lakes and canals (West Yorks UK). Memories of my time fishing with my Grandad are priceless. Grandads rod has pride of place in my Rod-Bag (Though not his reel, as he had an amusing habit of tangling and fighting with fixed spool reels, dismantling to fix them and ending up with a pile of bits, so he ended up always sticking with a centre-pin that my Dad now has).

I also later got into fly-fishing with my Dad and thoroughly enjoy that too.

Currently, I hardly ever get a chance to go fishing due to family commitments (I dont mind as I love spending time with my Wife and baby Son) though I do enjoy a lot of time messing about with my equipment and tackle box.

Ive recently decided to enjoy spending a little cash and so bought myself a pretty cheap 11m pole as a starter/tester to pole fishing. Also, as a result of browsing for my pole, I ended up investing in a Shakespeare Beachcaster rod, as I have sea fished on holidys a lot before, though always with a basic coarse rod, so thought it would be nice to get a dedicated rod for the Sea.

Thats mostly it for me. I love the time I spend fishing, and very much enjoy the even more time I spend fiddling with tackle at home.

Nice to be at the forum and Im now going to dash and ask an advice question about my new sea rod.

Cheers

Alex ( BobSpoons )
