Spinning help please! Hello everyone! I fly fished when I was much younger but haven't done it in a long time. Although I'm considering getting back into fly fishing, these days I prefer the casual ease of spinning but have never really pursued it in the UK. Where should I start? To be honest, I'd fish for almost anything but I think I'd most enjoy going for trout/salmon, bass, mackerel or cod/pollack. In particular I'd like to spin for brown trout, preferably wild, but I seem to remember from my childhood that it was difficult to find anywhere that permitted anything other than flyfishing for this fish. So, to all the spinners out there, bearing in mind that I'll ultimately consider any kind of spinning, what are your suggestions?? Are there any of you that go camping and spinning for, say, a weekend? Or any good spinning holidays? Perhaps I'm asking for too much, so if you know of any good websites where I can find the answers for myself, it would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help guys!! Dave

Re: Spinning help please! Hello Dave To be honest I do only fish for Pike on spinners and honestly wouldnt know to much on any tips for trout etc. All i do know is your best bet is with small spinners/lures or you have a much higher chance of catching the Pike depending on your location. Apart from that I cant help you buddy if your looking for locations to fish try the TCF (total coarse fishing) Magazine or Anglers Mail Jordan

Re: Spinning help please! Hello dave, i mostly go fishing with a spinner, and i fish somewhere called the sanna round by curtin drive (moxley) not far, And you wont catch like trout and stuff but you will catch roach, perch and maybe a carp if lucky. I go night fishing for a week most of the time so i hardly get to spend time at home so if i were you fish where you know. Good Luck! ![]()
