Hi! Hi guys! I'm from SA, been in the UK for 8 or so years and in the army for about 7. Use to do a lot of fishing back home as my dad was a commercial fisherman. But we also caught a lot of freshwater bass, mostly largemouth. I have just been home for a month and did a lot of fishing, catching both my biggest saltwater fish ever and biggest bass ever! What a result, which has now re-ignited my passion for fishing! I have no knowledge of fishing in the UK, but brought my bass rod and reels back, hoping to find something similar, where I can use lures to catch fish! Looking forward to posting in the forums, learning about fishing UK, and will post up pics from the fish I caught last month if anyone is interested!

Re: Hi! Hi mate welcome to the forum, yeah put the pics up would be nice to see your fish. What part of the UK do you now live in? What type of fishing you want to get into? Saltwater, freshwater or both? Joe __________________ Sea 2012- 5brd rockling, whiting, LS Dogfish,Bass,Eel,Flounder F/W 2012- Catfish(16.5lb), Carp,Tench LITTER IS JUST LAZINESS!!

Re: Hi! I live in Catterick, North Yorkshire. Been thinking of pike fishing? Carp fishing I would find a bit too boring, I think. I would prefer something more active. But while I am here, freshwater, as I think I would have more opportunity getting out there to fish. Here are some of the fish I caught: Saltwater: Amberjack, 44Kgs ![]() Tuna, 14kgs, must have caught nearly 100 tuna in all during my stay. My dad, who has been fishing those waters for over 25years says he has never seen them so active. ![]() And the catch of my life, bass of 4kgs! What a fight! ![]() The Amberjack was caught with a 300gr Jigg. Jigging is by far one of the most fun ways of fishing. Very tiring though. We caught some Tuna jigging, but mostly on surface poppers and stick baits. Caught a lot of sharks as well, who attack the Tuna once hooked. Bass was caught using a spinner bait.

Re: Hi! Bom día e bem vindo! It's good to see another largemouth angler on here! I'm fairly new as well, and I'm usually the token American in most discussions on here... I've been hopelessly addicted to largemouth, smallmouth, and Kentucky spotted bass for 21 years. If you want to bounce a question about lure fishing I'm here, just a few time zones behind! __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner

I love my bass fishing here in Massachusetts. I travel a lot and fish for many species, but my first love is bass. Moog __________________ "It's the curse of the hook" |
