Just joined the forum so am a "New Boy". I was introduced to fly fishing a very long time ago by a dear departed friend Louis Davis in eastern South Dakota primarily for largemouth bass and panfish, but the occasional jumbo pike or walleye (zander to anyone born over here) tried to smash our gear a few times. Didn't even fish for trout till 1968 in Washington state-got my first ever rainbow-all six inches on a tiny black gnat and I was completely hooked. Married an english woman in 1969 and emigrated to North London in 1971 after doing eight years in the Air Force. I fished over here till 1979 when I had all my tackle stolen while away on a holiday in Yarmouth, some of the gear had sentimental value being given to me by Louis and I went off fishing all together till 2007 and retirement was nearing. I've taken it up again in a big way and tie all my own flies now-more than 10'000 in the last three years. Problem is I can't get out fishing-I don't drive any more and my wife who does is disabled so can't drive me to local stillwaters though I know there are some good ones in the area so hopefully one of you people can help me.
