| New to the forum and too fishing. Hi All, I have just signed up to this forum so would like to say hello to you all. Firstly my name is Tim and i am from Witney (just outside of Oxford in the UK) I have no history of fishing apart from going down the river with my mate when i was about 10. so 19 years on i thought i would have a go myself. I have been into bushcraft (Ray Mears stuff if some dont know) for a few years now and planning to learn all the skills i need to go out for a week at a time, and fishing is one of the skills i want to learn to allow me to do this. I have been searching the internet now for information and decided i learnt loads from bushcraft forums that i can do the same on fishing forums. what my plans are is to learn to catch fish i can eat. I am going to be getting a fishing rod and reel shortly for my 30th birthday. I plan to do most of my fishing in rivers, using ledgering (i hope anyway) Ideally i would like keep my kit simple, but improve the skills required to catch dinner. Planning to get Dean Macey Specimen Avon Twin Tip Rod and a shakespeare cypry 4000 reel. Hope to chat to you soon and start my learning. Thanks Tim aka Tank |

| Re: New to the forum and too fishing. for what the set up ? If so it gives you much more scope to fish . different methods are used when using a float .more mobile a ledger gives a static bait |
