i was using google earth 3d on the campsite over at arrachor and it looks really deep water, and suggestions/tips for fishing from shore would be great!

Hi Jim, welcome to the forum, I take it it`s Loch Long you mean. It is a deep loch, but the last time we fished it ( about 3 yrs ago ), we lost a lot of tackle because of the kelp beds. Best way to fish it is from a boat, there was a guy used to hire out dinghies with an outboard, just next to the Arrochar Hotel, but not sure if he`s still there. If you`re fishing from the shore, I think you`d be better the other side, just before the bend round to Ardgarten.

that sounds a great tip, as i said about googl3d its amazing for seeing stuff that i would normally miss, i got some great pics of the old torpedo range from 2008 from google, real interesting.
im off to try the arrochar hotel, cheers.
