| New to forum... Hi All, A quick hello to you all, a bit late in the day really as I have already started a thread elswhere on the forum.......For this I humbly apologise for my bad form. I am fortunate in that I have experienced all 3 forms of fishing, starting at the tender age of 8 in course fishing, (I hate that term, what is course about any fishing? Its an art form!), then moved on to the sea during my RAF career, including winning the 2002 Scottish NE Region Boat Champs out of Aberdeen, and the 2003 RAF Champs at Portsmouth (3 man team), and finally, initially as an escape from the competition world, I took up the fly. Now as my own son has reached 8, and wants to come fishing with me, I have come back somewhat to course, and in particular Barbel and Chub. Its easier for my boy to cast accurately with a lead or feeder, than false cast a few times with a fly. He's coming along nicely. I have read several of the threads on the forum, and must say that I look forward to chatting with you all, and perhaps meeting up on the bank some time. ![]() Take care and tight lines ![]() John __________________ Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.
