morbid movie is on a distinguished road
hello from me

new member here
i was given a fly rod for fathers day this year
6wt rod and reel combo nothing too expensive
i have since been sorting leaders more fly line floating and intermediate
more flies
i think i have got the bug
just come back from a few days at Valley Dam fisheries
blanked but enjoyed it,my casting seems to be improving
i did get a couple of tugs on a buzzer but missed them also had a few follow the fly up when lifting the rod to re-cast
looking forward to next season when i will join my local angling club to fish my local river there are quite a few good still waters in the area for me to improve my abilities
tight lines all

Re: hello from me

Hi Morbid,

Welcome...I'm new to this forum myself.

I love fishing with the fly, and unlike other types of fishing (which I do still do) you don't need a ton of gear. I put all my fly's and tackle in my vest, pin a scoop net on my back and carry my rod for miles looking for the elusive 'Wild' brownie.

Good luck and enjoy

John

Re: hello from me

Hi Morbid, once you catch you first on the fly, there`ll be no turning back, mine was a 6oz brown with a terrible attitude. Welcome to the forum and ask away if you any need advice, I`m sure the fluff chuckers will try to answer.

Peter
