| I'm the new guy Hiya, Been fishing about 20 times in my life and loved it every time so now looking to go more often and thought what better place to get tips and advice than a dedicated fishing forum! I have to be honest, I know nothing about fishing really. I can set my gear up (I have a carp rod, think its made by RAM or something, don't think its great) and I can use a float and ledger but hardly ever catch anything. First question as well! I'm going to start going regularly to a smallish pond I know of. What kind of rod should I be looking to get? I don't want to start out spending big bucks, £30 would be nice but I'd like something that will do me OK. I have a real so that's not an issue either. There aren't too many big fish in there, if any. Would my carp set-up suffice? |

| Re: I'm the new guy If your rod and reel catches fish ,then it will surfice , its the angler not the tackle that catches |
