Hi all Howdo folks! I'm here to ask for some assistance in my fishing attempts. I'm from Croatia and have, in all honesty, registered to the first forum that google gave after a 'fishing forum' search. I'm a more or less complete beginner when it comes to fishing and I'd like some detailed help, if it's possible. Other than this, I'm an IT guy, I like nature, sports and I like eating what I catch, which is usually not-a-lot ![]() Catch ya'all down the trail...in the help area :)

Re: Hi all Oh, well, I posted a gigantic post in the General fishing area asking for loads of advice. I'm still trying to figure out what is it that I really like. I think it'd be river fishing, but up till now, my success on any river was really, really minor. Other than that, I'd go for near anything, but I don't like fishing for trophies, rather...hmm...how to put it? Fishing with a purpose? As in, catch primarily for food, let the rest go back in water. Before anyone jumps on me, it's allowed in Croatia to freshwater fish for food, you just can't sell it. Also, there are areas where it's C&R only. Sadly, the laws and bylaws in Croatia are so lame, you gotta get a fishing permit for each parcel of land you want to fish on and there's 400+ fishing societies that each have their own permit, so you get a situation where most people can't afford it and then go poaching, thus making far more damage than if the permits were more easily obtainable. It's an endless loop situation, sadly. I hear it's much, much better in England, so I'm planning on visiting a friend there and going for some bream and rudd fishing. To make a long story short, I'm thinking of trying topside lure for some predators, bottom with a feeder or float. Still can't really decide what I wanna do and how to do it...

Re: Hi all Chypsa Good luck with the fishing and enjoy your outing with your friend. I am more a fly fisher, I also try to get to the seaside for fishing there. I agree with you, fish caught and not used, should go back, I do and hope most fishermen apply this practice. JD ![]()

Re: Hi all So, is it ok if I ask you - what kind of a rod and reel are you using? What fish do you go after and are you having a lot of success with it?
