Hello Ladies and Gents,

Firstly, my name is Ash and found this forum ~two days ago.

I will be the first to admit I am a COMPLETE novice. I used to live in Manchester where my Dad taught me canal fishing (we lived 2mins walk from the canal). Whenever we went on holiday as kids, my sister and I, my Dad would take me sea fishing which I really enjoyed.
I learnt a few basics (very very basic - ie how to strike, how to real in etc) but I remember really enjoying it. After school I moved to Leicester and with there being no sea around, I soon forgot about fishing (>_<).

I have just moved to Waterlooville (not too far from Portsmouth) and found out just how close to the sea I am here! It has sparked an interest again.

The short version: I have read through all the stickies, and alot of the posts and found a wealth of info. Great reads and look forward to learning to pull up the fish. Thought I would say Hello and say thanks for the effort you guys are putting in, especially in helping newbies out like myself.
Apologies in advance for any stupid questions I am likly to ask, like I say, I have very limited experiance and my Dad is no longer about to ask for advice. Just looking around on the web at the moment for a really cheap rod/reel/basic kit to try it out on the water and see where I go from there :)

Welcome to the forum mate..Theres a few of us who fish the area on a regular basis so keep an eye out for threads and maybe join up on a session !
