Hi from Thailand

I my name is Alan ( big Ol' Lucky Ol' Al ) and I have been living in Thailand for 10 years. Is there any other members that live in Thailand. I am from south London and have lived in Koh Samui and now live in Surin ,N.E. Thailand.Don't like the fishing parks much ,like to fish for the native spicies ,light tackle and food for the family. My favorite fishing is lure fishing for Pla Chon ( snakeheadfish ) and float fishing for Pla Yissok,Pla Tapien ,Pla Nin and of course if I do go to the fishing parks -Pla Caho ( gaint siamese carp, biggest 38 kilo from a lake that cost 100 baht ,£2 a day to fish )You name it and I have caught it in Thailand ( nearly )
I have fished all my life,in the UK did mainly carpfishing but also had a sea fishing boat ( loved uptiding )done (fly ) trout fishing ,again if it swims I would try and catch it.
Can't wait to start reading some of the articales, and get to know some of the members.
cheers
boloa

Once you have lived in another country for a while the novelty runs out and you could be anywhere.I really miss the misty June morning at one of my old carp lakes back in the UK sometimes or link ledgering a lob-worm for Chub in a small river. When people come to places like Thailand they are in holiday mode and they think they would love to live here but it takes a curtain type of person to pack there bags to go and live elsewhere .But at the end of the day your home is where your heart is and at the moment my heart is here in Thailand .

Cheers Greenheart, hows the fishing going with the new boat.I used to have a Longliner and used to fish out of Folkstone in Kent.I had a fish finder, decca navigator and a VHS radio.I think Decca has finished now?.I used to love uptiding in the winter for cod and in the summer Folkstone had about 40 wrecks within a 5 mile radius so there was alway a new wreck to find and fish, although most had nets around them .Even though I love the fishing out here its nice to read about what the guys are doing back in the UK.
