Re: hiya....

I know just enough of fishing to know I am interested in it, and willing to learn as much as I can. But don't mind to ask me any questions, I would be glad to help you.

Edit: Oh yeah welcome to the forum, and my post sounded like I am not fishing already, but yeah I am fishing already :P

Re: hiya....

My problem is not so simple although I'm looking for a simple answer

Ive been planning a trip through India, Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, China, and back through Southern asia including Laos, Cambodia, Tailand and beyond :)

As said in the title I love fishing but have no real experience. Ive always enjoyed sea fishing primarily purely as I like to eat what I catch. That said i'm no idiot and am happy to put back the younger and dangered species.

The reason I've joined is I'd like to get an idea of the type of species I am likely to find in Asia. Obviously this is a wide open question with a zillion answers. I just want to get a rough Idea of what to be doing.

Ive bought myself a nice 5peice boat rod, and am now looking about setting myself with some very lightweight tackle which isnt gonna take up too much space in my rucksack.

I will mostly be fishing from rocks, beaches piers.

I know how to set up a basic float rig, Ive got a couple of mackrel rigs although im not sure they would be much use??? And Ive used a ledger with a simple hook bait aproach.

Any advice is very welcome.......
