| Mikevan New Member, Hello to whoever reads this, for Easter I will be going to a cottage near Grogport/Carradale on the Kilbrannon sound. I stayed there last year, the cottage overlooks the sea and is wonderful. I sugested to my wife I might try fishing there and she bought me a beachcaster rod and fixed spool reel and I hope to catch something to eat. I have not been fishing for many a long year so if anyone has any advice it would be most welcome. I have read that there are Pollack and Mackeral in the area regards MV |

| Re: Mikevan Try fishing a float with a size 2 hook baited with a sliver of mackerel or a small ragworm and you could pick up Pollack,Bass,Wrasse and no doubt plenty of Mackerel and maybe garfish. A small spinner or plug will give you the same results and chucked in amongst the rocks and kelp can be great fun.. If you are on a surf beach then either spin amongst the breakers for Bass or ledger a sandeel / ragworm bait on the bottom ! Also tell your wife i also want to go fishing at the weekend and also wouldnt mind a new rod ! haSteve __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
