| Re: new norfolk member Hi,Itwashowbig, Welcome on board, join the club,I am a Londoner, i holidayed at Potter Heigham for 12 years, from 1962 then went onto buy a 32ft boat, and was offerd a job in boat building (well what can you say) I sold up in London and moved to Norwich within two weeks in 82 and never looked back,I did most of my fishing on the Bure and the Thurne especialy deep dyke on Hickling broad,(Wonderfull times)We still visit the broards nown and again as they hold fond memories,i am a permit holder at my local lakes in Norwich and fish them 4 or 5 times a week as i am now retired( arnt i the lucky one) I think i might nearly qualify to be called a local now, cant lose my accent though. | Re: new norfolk member Hello again 42,the old cockney ear,I fish the lakes at Bawburgh just down the frog and toad from me, i havent started fishing yet, takes a long time for the old bones to warm up,should start about second week in April, had a good 2009/10 season plenty of carp, tench, roach, bream and rudd.I usually fish with a sleeper rod out for the carp, running feeder method, ledger rod for the tench, same method, and if things are slow i get the float rod out, favourit fish has to be the tench,i love catching them, whats better than sitting by the lake watching the world go by and getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day woes, going to Southwold easter week for a break and let the dogs have a run on the beach, might even take the wife(.keep a trossing) Tightlines Teddytench. ![]() |
