Smile Woodlands Lake Bradley Stoke, Bristol.

Hi I'm a new member - Hello.
Has anyone fished at the Lake at Woodlands golf course in Bradley Stoke, Bristol? If so is there any other fish apart from carp in the lake, and is it a good venue???

Welcome to the forum. I used to live near Winterbourne when I grew up & never did fish that lake used to fish the duck pond, bitterwell & also the river frome (lovely river well was back then...) also the frome @ fishponds but that was never as good as Winterbourne end. There was also a lake called the clamp which was just around the corner from bitterwell & also Badminton but I believe that lakes shut now...shame again a great fishing venue. Dont know much about that lake in sadley broke you speak of but boiles were the bait to use even back then I believe as I had friends that fishing it.

Rob.

Cheers Rob, yeah i used to live in Frenchay and fished the Frome alot at winterbourne especialy at the Moorend end! I've only just got back into fishing after about a 12 year break (missus and kids etc...) I've fished at Brimsham park in Yate a few times and a small pond in kilcott, me and a mate are thinking of Sadley Broke as its very local. Thanks for your feedback mate.

Simon

Dunno if it still exists even but I would imagine it would but did you or have you fished yate rocks (its on a farm) at all?cor there was some stunning carp of all different varieties in there. Grew up fishing the frome I loved that river if you walk down the public footpath which goes down the back by the duck pond you come out by the old viaduct had some stunning perch out of there up to 3lb. However I say that but I walked that bit of river again about 5 years ago & there pipes & all sorts going into that river!I used to catch about 300 gudgeon a day out of that stretch sometimes but there wont be any gudgeon in there looking @ what they had done to it last time I was up there. Its a crying shame...Theres ham green thats another but thats over pill way & I think that got hit by the ole blue/green algae before I left Bristol. I ended up fishing on the Bristol & Bath amalgamation but I dont even know if that still exists, googled it...didn't come up with a website????I fished tockenham & longleat for a few years then the Avon & that is a superb river...only river i've caught a tench out of so far! Tight lines mate sure someone will put you right on that lake your after meantime i'm just reminiscing lol
