Advice & info needed please

Hi everyone, i just registered :-).

I would be grateful if anyone could advice me on what type of fish i can catch (shore fishing) and what type of bait you found useful (according to the type of fish) for shore fishing at seasalter, tankerton/hernebay. ...any other advice and/or info would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Re: Advice & info needed please

hello jim,welcome to the forum,
you are in luck i grew up around there,
seasalter is best for bait digging, the tide goes out for nearly a mile leaving enormous lug beds, its not much good for fishing apart from the odd flounder and schoolie,
whitstable and tankerton are not a lot better in my books,

herne bay is best by far,you have 2 piers, hampton pier is good for bass in the summer and codling and whiting in winter, the other pier by the marina is popular but watch out for the jet skiers,
a favourite beach of mine at herne bay is at the eastern end, in front of the kings hall,i dont know why it fishes better ,it looks the same at LW,
these are a few places to try, give me a shout if you want any more help or directions

Talking Re: Advice & info needed please

Hi fishypaul, kkk and bakerboy, thanks for the welcome. Fishypaul, many thanks for the info. Since you said i could ask :-), here it goes: do you know what is fishing like from herne bay to reculver? I know the area as we had a caravan at the sportsman for years however i have never fished in between herne bay and reculver. What type of fish and bait should i expect to catch/use? Many thanks again. Bakerboy, could you please tell me what fishing is like around seaford and dungeness and popular bait? many thanks. KKK how about Cardiff/area? many thanks. Have a good day.

Re: Advice & info needed please

Greetings, and welcome to the forum. I live in Herne Bay and have had a few sessions (all blanked) at kings hall but have been told by several regular old timers that it gets loads better as it warms up. Lug rag n squid seem to be the favorit baits. Let me know when you are going. will try and meet up with you

Hi spirit42 and thank you.
sorry for late reply but i don't have regular access to the internet. Many thanks for the kind offer and can't wait to try lug rag 'n squid . I am due for another operation on my leg, but the 'experts' haven't decided yet....so i am waiting to hear from the hospital. Depending upon the hospital date i will know whether i can meet up with you before or after the op. I will keep in touch and many thanks again. Have a good day
