| Re: New member's introduction Hi mate, welcome aboard ... I come from Deal originally, so also do a lot of fishing in the Sandwich Bay area .. usually 10th Green or Chequers, even though it's a bit of a pain to get down from Maidstone, I nearly always do OK there!! I agree with the getting the pliers from the DIY store option, and I still use crimps for rigs where I'm not going to have alter the length of the hooks snoods .. so long as you're careful, I can't see any problem. I've never had one break in the 10-ish years I've been using them ... Care is required, however, not to cut into the line. I think perhaps Sea Angler or TSF should do some formal tests to see how much crimps reduce the strength of the line I'd be interested to see if it changed my mind, certainly. Look forward to seeing you around on here! Cheers, JB. |
