| Hi, Ex-sea angler, but have found the delights of coarse fishing Hi. I am new to the forum, just wanted to say hello to you all, and I have already learned quite a bit off this site from the various posts and topics. I was a sea angler, both shore and boat, (for many yeasrs) but got fed up with boat trips being cancelled due to rough seas, and was tired of standing on a cold winters beach at 0300 in the morning drowning ragworms to try and tempt whiting or cod, but instead ending up with a couple of dozen dogfish!!!! My son (early teens) and I turned to coarse fishing towards the end of August this year, and have not looked back since. We have enjoyed the early dawn starts and great days out at local commercial fisheries, and have had 2 trips to Exeter canal in past few weeks, but unfortunately only 1 pike to show for it, but we are confident we will do better on our next trip. My son and I are also going to try the River Culm in due course too, as it looks a lovely place to fish. Anyway, no doubt I will be posting queries and questions on tactics, baits etc for carp fishing (and also pike fishing) in the not too distant future. Regards Baz |
