A SPECIMEN Newbie

Hi all,

Love ALL aspects of fishing here especially Carp however will fish the local River Mersey as well which has cleaned beautifully and all varieties are there for the takings, just love the fly as well.

So if a line has a hook on the end I am at the other.

Enjoy your fishing folks, maybe compare notes sometime and at the same time I will tell you about the one that 'got away'.

Tight lines

Pete

Thanks BW.

By the way, that pike you are holding is about the size of the live bait I use - ha!

A nice fish.

Thanks for the welcome... You have a point but when you think about it it's pretty general with cod on this coast, I used to go out from Walney Island after the bigunns (30lb plus) but not any longer, think our local chippy has had 'em all.

Tight lines anyway, nice big pollack would go down well.

Cheers

Pete

PS. I have fished the Mersey over 50 years (honest) and obviously seen BIG changes however much prefer it now, have had many good bass from Fort Perch Rock and genuine red spotted plaice (not flukes) to 2.5lb so they are certainly there for the taking. P....
