advice please

hi i have never caught a fish in my life and i was wondering does any1 have any good advice for me?
i have a rod licence and i want to start fishing in a local canal with floats.

i dont know what im doing so any help much appreciated

hi mate. if your going for anything, use a light float, a couple of split shots, size 14 hook and a couple of magots. will catch you anything

If you can go with someone that can fish ull learn so much more.

Go down to the canal and watch other angalers a few times befor you go.

The canal is a great place to start fishing.

Also your local takle should be able to help you.
There is so much to learn about fishing.

i would go for 4lb mate with a 2lb hook link untill you get more adapt to fishing
