HI. newbie from swadlincote

hi folks, just thought i would pop in and say hello.

only on my 4th week but loving it so far.

brought a cheap set of rods to use in france on holiday to use on the lake mainly for a bit of a laugh and really liked it. only caught small carp about 4" long if that but got about 160 in about 8 days lol

came back and first time in uk water after about 4 hours got a small perch and thought well least i got something. then about 15mins later my feeder rod had a right fit and then spent a few mins trying to get something to the bank. which turned out to be about a 5 or 6 lb carp which i was sooooo chuffed with ok it's small by most standard but for me it was a monster lol

i need to find out about lines thou as i been reading up on hook length etc but really unsure on what to do line wise with different ratings etc and types od rod

i'm lookin at setting up a small blog style site that i can keep my progress on and any tips etc i find out

lol i live about the furthest you can get from the sea in any direction i think but does look a good laugh i will admit that.
