| Hi all New Member who would like advice. Just started fishing, have some gear was given about 10 years ago, anyway to cut a long story short went fishing with a pal at Warkworth near Amble off the pier the old rod top eye broke I now have one arm like popeye with gripping the rod trying to turn my old reel that turned about 280 degrees before it needed a hard push to make the 360. My mate had no such problem and caught 5 fish (2 Mackrel, 2 Flatties and a Weaver fish) I caught nothing but still enjoyed it even when it rained on us, and now I have decided to buy some gear. I have looked on the web for write ups but now find myself comfused with the choice of reel so I am apeeling to the forum fishermen to point me in the right direction. These are the reels I have narrowed the choice down to that will fit into my budget. ABU GARCIA SORON STX 20. ABU CARDINAL 500ALBI either C504 or C506 ABU CARDINAL 600ALBI C603 DAIWA EMCAST EVO 5500 ECE5500-AIR BAIL OKUMA POWERLINER BAITFEEDER 860 Please don't suggest anymore as I have been up way into the early hours just getting to these. Which ever Reel is suggested I definately would appreciate a good Rod that would match it. Cheers all.     |
