Hi, i have absolutly no fishing experience. Today a friend and i bought and rod and reel from aldi as abit of an impulse buy.
I understand i need some weights and hooks and lures and stuff but i'm not sure really what i need. Plus i just want a couple of hooks and a weight, but when you look on eBay it's like 100 hooks. Could someone hook be up with the real basics for a couple of quid on paypal? If not, a shopping list of what i need?

What is the law on where you can fish? Can you just find a river? I have a boat so i'm guessing i can just fish somewhere in the sea?
I there a dummies guide to fishing somewhere as i need to be educated

firstly you need to register for a rod licence before you can even put your rod in the water,then it depends on what fish you want to catch ive seen the aldi rods and they are carp rods so if you want to fish for carp or any other fish my advice would be to go to your local tackle shop tell them your budget and they will set you up with what you need then you need to decide what method you want to use ie,float ,method,using lures its not hard but there are so many types of set up .

Okay i'm just ordering my license now. Can i just find a stretch of river and fish or use a town canal?
I've ordered some spinners off ebay and a float + hook.
