| Newbie Alert! Help needed! Hey folks, I never understood fishing. Was one of those "I don't understand how sitting there staring at a float and chucking in maggots can be fun." Then this Wednesday I went to a corporate event at Bax Farm Fishery near Sittingbourne and had the best day ever!! Now I've got the bug - we used a rod and a reel and I caught a couple of tiddlers - about 4oz!! Rubbish I know, but I want to go again and don't know what gear I need! So I'm thinking a rod, a reel, a keep net and a normal net (whatever that's supposed to be called). Happy going back to the coarse lakes, but could anyone give me an idea of what I would ideally need as a brand new starter, bearing in mind in still just toeing the water. Don't even know what type/price/names/floats/weights/bait I'm looking for or anything, so if you're up for helping initiate me into this world - I'll be eternally grateful!! Cheers folks! Stu |

| Re: Newbie Alert! Help needed! the best thing to do is find a friend that fishes and go fishing with them every fisherman that i know has spare tackle borrow one of there old rods and reels and get them to teach you its no fun going fishing and not catching because you dont have a clue and when your a bit more clued up you will know what sort of rod you want good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of fishing . P.S try your library for fishing dvds |
