| Re: Woman in need of help!!!! hey fifi Locations around the West Midlands have been restocked with thousands of fish to help to improve angling at British Waterways' fisheries throughout the region. The Dudley Canal at Halesowen; the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal at Compton and Gailey; the Cannock Extension Canal at Pelsall; the Ashby canal at Snarestone; and the Stratford canal at Lapworth are just some of the locations across the West Midlands that have be restocked with 6,000 roach, bream and perch. Blythe Waters (right) in Knowle, near to Solihull, has had extensive vegetation and tree work improvements carried out on site, the cafe has been given a fresh look and both Bridge and Willow pools have been re-stocked with over 2,600lb of bream and carp. Stockton Reservoir near Rugby has also undergone an extensive reed removal project and has now been restocked with an additional 3,000 small carp. The restocking follows a winter of improvements to British Waterways' fisheries in readiness for the new arrivals. British Waterways West Midlands angling co-ordinator Carl Nicholls said: "With thousands of people visiting the West Midlands waterways every year to fish, we want to ensure that the best possible opportunities for good fishing are available". Anglers who would like to find out more about fishing at any location on the West Midlands Waterways can contact Carl Nicholls, angling co-ordinator, on 01827 252048 try there |
