Re: Hello and help

Thanks Paul

Your advice is much appreciated. In fact top of my agenda for tomorrow is a trip to Argos to purchase a headlamp....

We plan to take along our summer beach tent for some extra shelter. It isn't green or camouflage but I'm sure this won't matter too much at night.

I am spending some time putting together rigs and weights to minimise the need on the night and have this afternonn bought some isotopes to help with bait detection.

I am sure there is a lot that we won't plan for but we will not allow it to spoil the night.

I look forward to receiving the link you mention.

Once again thanks to all.

Re: Hello and help

Plankton Boy

Andover - great place to live....

Is Avon beach near the car park where the attendant is in the little hut and the big cafe is at the end?

We tried spinning as you suggested last weekend and the current was so strong it kept pushing our lines towards the many crab lines being thrown over the qual side. We gave up on this in favour of casting from the shoreline.

Hadn't considered Hythe marina but one to remember.

I'll try out the rig and bait suggested. We got caught up a lot on the weed that you mention. Plus not sure but there seemed to be a large amount of very hungry crabs that had there fill on my ragworm........

We have seen the sign on the Car park but weren't convinced they carried this out, we're much wiser now.

Maybe see you around town or the coast.

Keep in touch.

Cheers!

Re: Hello and help

Its a dump mate how can you say that?
Yeah that sounds like Avon beach with the big cafe n all that there.
That run dont half push through there dont it, it does calm down a bit you might of caught tide coming in or out.
Could well of still been crabs attacking your bait but they should start to die down a bit now, or it could of been the pout there used to be loads of little ones there that strip yer bait with no sign of a bite grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
