| Message from a newbe Hi all, Just joined the forum. I am retired, not a fanatical angler but go as often as I can. I am lucky because I fish mainly a private lake on the Romney Marshes,so very few fish it. The lake is about 5 acres, max.depth about 5',an old gravel pit.holds a very fine head of Tench(had them to 10lb.) very good Roach and Dace.Plus many Carp, mainly Commons,up to 24lb. It is very hard fished, just like many women, very temperamental. Large bags on good days and many days, sweet fa.!! Can never tell if one is going to catch anything, not like most commercial waters. I use mainly sweetcorn or maggots, will try boilies this year, can't use worms, catch only eels with those. |

| No,this is a "hidden"lake on a sheep farm.some know about it but very few are given permission to fish it. This does make it hard fished, there is lots of natural food for the fish,up side is that they are not shy, quite often the carp will even swim over your line, almost waving their fins as if to take the pee. |
