Hello

Greetings,

First can I just thank you all for such a helpful forum. Only found this site today and already have found out a lot I didn't know.

Have been sea (shore and pier) fishing for about 15 years, (usually unsuccessfully,) but only about twice a year when visiting realtives in south west Wales. Have decided I want to go a bit more often but locally. The nearest shore to line to me is Southend on sea where I am going to try for the first time over wed and thurs this week. So if there's anyone here familiar with fishing in that area then please say hello!

Cheers.

Ed.

Re: Hello

Hi Eddie, welcome to the forum !
I had my first decent bass off the end of Southend pier (about 15 years ago!) it was just under 9lbs. and I caught it using a mackerel flapper dropped straight down off the right hand end as the tide was coming in.

Re: Hello

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Wednesday fished from a grafitti covered shelter at the Garrison in Shoesbury, caught nothing.

Thursday fished from Southend pier, a few hours from the end to the left then another 2 hours halfway along. Caught crabs.

Friday went to Tilbury and fished the sea wall by the World's End pub. Caught nothing.

Bad time of year I guess.
