808 is on a distinguished road
Greetings!

Hello, im 808 (obviously not real name) but its been my screen name for about a year and a bit now so have to keep it.

Im 15 (nearly 16) and mainly go fishing with my dad for pike down at a local stretch of canal, have been for about 6 years now. Its a (very) long one, and we fish the same one just at different sections.

Not just pike, but we fish for other ones as well, like Carp, Tench and Bream. But mainly just end up with Roach and Perch, with the occssional Skimmer Bream and pesky eel.

My favorite fish are Zander, Tench, Perch and Pike. It's my lifetime ambition to catch a Zander but i've realised it is an at least 6 hour drive to get to a place which has them. Damn.

Our records so far are
Countless Roach (Biggest about a 3/4 pound)
Countless Perch, but not nearly as many as Roach (Biggest 3 about a pound each)
Tench - 6lb
Carp - 8lb (ONLY carp we had, an at least 12lb one got off about 2inches away from the landing net, hook straightened)
Bream - 6lb
Pike - 8 1/2lb
Rudd - 1lb exactly (Must have been dieting to get that weight)

Sadly not bloomin Zander.

Anyway, i hope to contribute, and thanks for reading my essay.

Re: Greetings!

Welcome 808, and some impresive catches.
I am still to get over the 5lb barrier for Pike and 2lb for a Bream.

Re: Greetings!

Cheers.

It took 2 sessions to catch a 7lb one. Then about 5 years to get the 8.5lb. That was a good day. A cold wet miserable good day.

Good luck with the Bream, just need to get a bit of luck finding the shoal. But you make your own luck, i hope you get it soon.
