New to Bristol Channel

Just a quick hello, from what I've read this looks like an excellent forum. I've just moved down to Cardiff from West Wales, brought with me my 15' boat with a 50 on the back and an aux.

I've been around boats all my life, but never in the channel. I want to fish through the winter (weather permitting!!!) and would appreciate any info on marks to fish along the coast and anything to wary of in the channel, it seems a bit more daunting than fishing the w.wales coast for bass all summer!!

P.s Is channel view the best place to launch or join one of the yacht clubs? any idea on joining fees?

Channel views good ,as are all the local yacht clubs ,and if your really feeling flush there`s Penarth Marina..........i`d get yourself a detailed local admiralty chart and have a good study,navigating around the Cardiff /Barry area can be interesting to say the least ....beware "The Rannie".....wind against tide there makes for a roller coaster ride .......
