hello from a total beginner

hi all,

ok,ive bought my first rod,and reel,cant wait for it to come,what else will i need for my first day out in what i hope will become a great hobby for me and my boys,any advise at all would be great as i really havent got a clue,but i am looking forward to it so much

Hi Paul,
welcome to the site.
Will you be doing Sea fishing or freshwater fishing?
I notice you come from Blackpool so you have both options.

If you are gong to try freshwater fishing for coarse fish you will need a lot of other essential items like a Landing net, Hooks, Rod rests, Comfy Seat, Fishing bag (or box), Disgorgers, Bait box, small tackle box, Floats and shot, Leger weights and Rod Licence . plus some other useful but Non-essential items like Brolley, Catapult, Keepnet, Spare spools for your reel holding different breaking strain lines & Clothing.

A sea angler may be able to help you on here if it's sea fishing you are going to try.

thanks all for your help,i think i have been advised by someone on here to try
seafishing,at first off a pier maybe,looking through the info pages now to try and educate myself a little,any tips would be very welcome
