Hello from South Yorkshire

Hi,
I managed to kick the habit as a teenager, fishing the "Free Stretch" of the Calder in Brighouse until the lure of music and hanging out cured me. Or so I thought. On a family holiday with friends I ended up having a go on the Ribble, my daughter wanted more and as we now live near the Upper Don, I borrowed a few bits of tackle...well, I'm sure you get the picture. Bought a job lot of old tackle off eBay to limit the cost in case she lost interest, and now find myself with an ever expanding collection.
I prefer catching to eat (trout and grayling), although now and again I'll coarse fish to keep sharp. I tried spinning and when I had that first pull, strike and land, I was hooked. Drifted into surface fishing with insects I'd collected, waiting for the circling trout to bite (local reservoir, I prefer rivers but the larger rainbow trout make a more challenging fight and a bigger meal), and maybe next season I'll accumulate some old fly fishing tackle for variety.
Why is it so addictive?
