Good to be here

Hi folks,

Thought I should do the thing and introduce myself. I'm Mr Cat, I'm up on the tropical west coast of scotland and I've just got back into fishing after a 20 year break. I can't believe how hooked I've become.

Sadly today I'm feeling really rather ill but I'm wondering if I can possibly drag myself slithering to the shore oday, even tho I promised myself I'd be taking it easy.

So far I've managed to make fishing in general a bit of a mission for myelf hiking to the shore and getting reasonably good with casting mackerel rigs. I miss the old days of chucking in a float, sitting back and watching it for a bit whilst relaxing. I'm enjoying the fish tho of course.

I've not quite got into fishing for anything else yet, I've still yet to try it all but someone said I could use the smaller mackerel I got for bait later...just cut a little chunk off and put it on a hook? I guess then you just leave that lying on the bottom until you feel a tweak as opposed to realing it in quick like a bunch of mackerel hooks...

We'll see.

I'm a gardener by trade too tho this isn't really the place to be exchanging tips. Despite liking gardening and fishing as my all time top passtimes just now, I am a very sociable character when the mood takes me.

Occasionally if you're walking the shoreline round here, the odd cry of 'Yes!' or 'I caught a fish!!' can be heard.

I guess that's all for now, apart from a mild appology for my lack of technical speak and a hope you can all work around that ha ha.
