| Hi and a bit of advice please Hello to everyone! I'm new to this site and would say to fishing as well. I went on the Norfolk Broads last year with my family to try fishing and i loved it!! So, i have been fishing a couple of times more (Day trips). They were float fishing (Coarse fishing i think its called ) with maggots and catching tiddlers (Roach, perch and the odd bream)....But i'm going again on Saturday for a week and i think i'm ready to step it up a level.... My Dad recently purchased 2 carp rods but we haven't any luck with them yet. My biggest fish my family have caught (With me with them) is a 1 1/2lb Tench (On a maggot. Yes i know but were only beginners(Well, my dad went fishing alot when he was a kid)).... So, from what i know i have a 4lb line and want to catch some bigger fish with it (Float Fishing - it thats possible) so what should i do ? Change bait, hoke size etc....?? Should i try worms or sweetcorn or bread or anything else ?? What should i do to catch say 2lb - 4lb fish ? Thanks in advance! |

| Re: Hi and a bit of advice please welcome to the forum. If your dad has carp rods, then you may want to consider pike in the broads. Best bet is to go into a local tackle shop and ask their advice.
