| Hello - from a wheelchair user Hi all, I'm a wheelchair user (long-time MS sufferer) but still enjoy getting out and doing some fishing with my son. We've mostly been coarse fishing in the warmer months and have enjoyed ourselves. However, my son is desperate to do some sea fishing and eat what he catches. The hard bit is finding accessible areas where we can fish together - obviously the closer to the sea the better for me. We have yet to try fishing from the sea wall at Newhaven fort but at least its accessible for me - any other suggestions along the South coast near Eastbourne? Also I'm from the North East and we'll be returning up there to visit family in the Newbiggin area - anyone got any suggestion for areas suitable for a wheelchair user to fish along the North East coast so we could at least get some mackerel in the summer ? Any advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance Skafloc |

| Re: Hello - from a wheelchair user Hi Skafloc and a very warm welcome to the forum. Eastbourne pier should be fishable from the top deck in a wheeelchair, but it may pay to give the tackle shop there a call first just to check. Another accessible venue would be Brighton Marina, again give them a call first (I will PM you the website). A bit further along the coast Bognor pier is good and further still you have Southampton Town Quay which is excellent for wheelchairs. Hope this helps a bit. Allan |
