lymington 7th november

hi guys

are we all set to have a great day out?

parking will be approx a fiver for the day in the car park, or free onroad parking about 200 yds away.
boat will be leaving at 08:00 from bath road car park in lymington, same pontoon as all the other fishing boats, situated to the right of the launching slip.
rob recomends a standard IOW cod rig (pennel rig with 8/0 - 10/0 hooks)

could you all please pm me with mobile number and e-mail address, just incase i need to get in contact with anyone for any reason.

kind regards
brett

Ah come on John I thought it was going to be a freindly, do we have to bring goats as well so we can learn from the IOW rig experts? Or will spring Chickens do for the weather gods?

RobT is on a distinguished road
Re: lymington 7th november

Hi

I've been passed the Forum details by Brett (Audiracer...?) to have a look at before your trip; I'm Rob, skipper of Electric Blue.

The rig I have recommended to Brett, is a standard Cod rig for our winter codding. Take about 24" of 100 - 150lb mono and tie a large swivel to one end slide your bait retaining hook on then tie your bottom hook to the other end. You can, and I certainly would add a couple off booby beads and a muppet above the top hook. Then tie some 50 / 70lb mono to the swivel and attach another swivel to the end of this. This can be a link for ease of changing. The lighter mono can be any length from 2 ft to 20ft. I wouldn't use an overalll length of less than 4ft though. If you have some, the excellent Zip lock booms can be used with a 5ft trace and then slid up and down your leader to create the longer trace lengths.

Standard downtide gear (20 - 30lb class) is all that should be needed but you must have braid on your reel. Uptiding (braid not needed for this) is another option if you fancy it, although not a massively popular method down here for cod it certainly produces fish. Big grip leads upto 10oz are the norm.

If you would like a closer look at the boat my minisite on deepsea is here:

http://www.deepsea.co.uk/boats/electricblue/index.htm

there is a link at the bottom of the page to my notice board. If you have any further questions please feel to mail me at:

rob@anglerpro.com

I look forward to meeting you all on the 7th

Regards
Rob
